My Final. Farewell.

To whom it may concern,

Four long months ago I created my site “DEUCEY ENTERPRISES, with the sole purpose of writing for my Creative Writing class, but over the semester I learned that I liked it, I liked to write and post on my site. Not only because my work would forever be among the code of the internet, but because I was learning as a writer, expanding my diction, and my outlets of writing. But now my school year has ended and at 8:50 a.m. today, I will be leaving my Creative Writing class for the last time.

This will be my last post.

My Piece: “REIMAGINED”

I chose to share “REIMAGINED” because I felt it was the best representation of my calligraphy and it turn myself. I thought it was easy to write this piece, the words just seemed to flow together, like a blot of ink spilled across my paper, interpreted differently by others, to show my emotions, and I think it turned out quite nicely. When writing this piece, I felt like I was going back in time, to the moment it happened, the moment I watched the films, the moment that could change my life completely. I hope this piece can spark some inspiration inside others, and people can relate with “REIMAGINED.”

For as long as I can remember I have always loved reading and writing, as a child, I had always had an inclination to read. I was also told I was good at making up stories, so I was told to write them, rather than just speaking them, because while my speeches may be forgotten, my stories inscribed on my Spiderman notebook, could last until the paper begins to stain and wrinkle, and the graphite begins to fade leaving only a shadow of my work. Looking back on this semester, I realize how much I was learning, always learning, always improving, and always becoming a better writer. I learned so many things that I didn’t even know existed until I took this class.

My blog Deucey Enterprises has opened up new doorways of writing for me that I wouldn’t know were there until I took this class. I love to read and be inspired by others’ pieces and learn what different genres there are out there, waiting to be written, waiting to be read.
On January 1st 2006, I watched a movie. One year later, I watched the movie again and again. I have watched it every year since. I had been rummaging through our movie cabinet, when I found an old box. I opened it up and inside sat three movies. They were the Back to the Future Trilogy. I knew there were only three movies and have waited for a new sequel to be made and added to our movie collection. The happiness those films brought me, by bringing our family together for our shared love of the movie adventure. The impressions we shared on the couch, the games we would play, and the clothes I could have worn. I remember devoting entire days to watch all the movies like a marathon. I remember wanting a DeLorean of my own, to travel throughout time and space. That was the year my brother was born, the year I lost so many teeth, a year I am slowly forgetting. That is the first year I can remember, events, family, the memories began for me there. Even with my memories exiting my mind I will always have the movies to take my mind back in time.

The Boy In The Spotted Pajamas: A Chain Story.

The Boy In The Spotted Pajamas: A Chain Story

Jimmy loved his pajamas that he got for Christmas they had wonderful spots on them and they were made of the finest silk. Every day he would wear them, they had not been washed since the day they were opened. No one could ever get him out of them. His parents tried to bribe him promising new pajamas if he would just change out of those crummy, spotted ones. It had been months since Christmas and everyone knew something was out of place when they saw young Jimmy in mid-April sporting his green and red spotted thermal pajamas. People would often give Jimmy and his family disgusted looks when they were in public. Jimmy’s teachers at school started asking him if everything was okay at home. Jimmy would always say yes; he didn’t understand why they wouldn’t be. The pajamas had many holes in them, the bottoms tattered from being dragged on the ground, its foul smell had worsened now unbearable. His parents quickly became desperate. They had no choice, they had to get those nasty pajamas off of him! On the day they planned to take the gross clothes off of him he did it for the first time. “Mom, dad I decided I would take my pajamas off to wash them.” His parents were startled and had to process this in their mind. “Are you sure son.” “Yes father but I want them as soon as they are out.” “okay, I’m very proud of you, son” said the father, “You’re really growing up.” That same boy grew up. He went to Middle School, High School, College, and continued all the way until he got his law degree all while wearing those old spotted PJ’s. By now the outfit was discolored and barely covered him, but somehow Jimmy believed his pajamas could get him through anything, almost like they were magic. People were still grossed out but Jimmy didn’t care. They helped him throughout his life, especially in passing his classes. They were the most comfortable clothes he had ever owned, and no one would force him to part with them. It wasn’t until after he had died as the most successful criminal attorney in the Northeast that people started to wonder: maybe the pajamas held real MAGIC!

Gasp! No one should know too much about their own DESTINY.

Gasp! No one should know too much about their own DESTINY.

The future was supposed to be flying cars and self-lacing shoes, not Hover boards and UGG’s. OCTOBER 21, 2015 7:28 P.M. is the date and time, when Marty McFly and DR. Emmett Brown went Back to the Future. This 1989 film envisioned our world would be surrounded by electronics and alternative means of transportation. This date has come and gone and we are no closer to cars that fly or space age technology in our daily clothing.
